Everyone needs a little glam in their life, and that’s exactly what Amapo designers Carolina Gold and Pitty Taliani delivered for Sao Paulo fashion week 2011! The designs ranged from trippy metallic prisms to a futuristic and somewhat disheveled look.
I’m not too sure about the braided hair extensions wrapped around the neck on some of the models, but overall this Amapo Fall 2011 collection gets my vote.
Here’s a cool video from the runway show. If you subscribe by email and can’t see the video go directly to Glam Rock Couture.
I would say it’s more of a modern style glam with a futuristic cyber twist, but still appropriate for today’s new glam rockers. They are based in Berlin and make some fierce platforms, costumes and other over the top stuff.
Might take a bit of practice to walk in these bad boys, but you wouldn’t have to worry about running into someone with the same shoes at a party!
Hope everyone has a glamorous psychedelic weekend!
Yep! You heard it here first….it’s in black and white…..GLAM ROCK IS BACK! OK, I’ll stop shouting now. But I do predict 2011 to be the year of a major glam comeback. And maybe even the next few years to come.
It’s not just because I happen to love the fashion or music, it’s seriously cropping up in every mag I see. Girls in furry jackets and platforms….boys in eyeliner….*ahem* boys in platforms! Get it? Got it? Good! Cause the scene is happening and the scenesters are ready!
I hope everyone had a fabulous holiday. I took an extended vacay but I’m back and will have more fun posts to come! What are your favorite glam looks? Favorite bands? Any new music to share? I’m always on the hunt.
I’m totally loving this shoot with model Iris Strubegger! Fur, lace, skin tight shinny pants….very Rock N Roll chic! I think the different jackets she is wearing really make the whole look complete. Sometimes I can be in just jeans and a t-shirt, but then I throw on a big furry coat and some chunky jewelry and instantly feel like a rockstar……even if it is just to the grocery store. 🙂
Have a glamorous and sexy weekend! More fun posts to come.
Check out this photo shoot from Harper’s Bazaar UK 2010 featuring model Julia Hafstrom, ironically called Velvet Goldmine. Well, it just goes to show, the glam rock trend is back and making it’s way into mainstream media. Of course I would have loved to see clothing a little more over the top, but that’s just me. It’s still a cool shoot and Julia looks fierce!
If you’re in the U.S. have a safe and glamorous Holiday weekend!
I’m seriously loving the rock n roll vibe in this shoot! Plus the fact that it features 2 of my all time favorite models Georgia May Jagger, daughter of rock legend Mick Jagger, and Sasha Pivovarova, one of the highest paid models right now. They’re all pretty fierce though and look like they could be taken from a page in glam rock time.
Well, the weekend is almost here. Time to break out your vintage Blondie albums, invite some friends over, put on your best glam rock outfits and party like it’s 1979! And if you do, send us some pics and they may get posted on Glam Rock Couture!
If there is one designer who continues to bring a glam rock style into the future it’s Pam Hogg!
Pam is from the UK and has been designing since the 80’s. She recently put out a line and has been dressing everyone from Kelly Rowland to Peaches. Included in the new repertoire are some insane leggings that make me want to break out a Bowie record and dance wildly around the house!
Pam’s style is definitely not mainstream….but then again that’s what we love about her!
I came across this shoot called “After Hours” by Max Ballatore and instantly fell in love! Max is from Napels, Italy and his unique style has brought him together with creative teams all over the world.
Everything about these pics just screams glamour and rock n roll….well, except for maybe the dude in the suit. 🙂
Hope everyone is having a glamorous week so far…no matter what!
